What does the Live Goal Tracker show?

Accepted Answer

Every goal scored across the night’s NHL games, newest first: the scorer, his team, whether it came at even strength, on the power play, short-handed or into an empty net, the assists, the score after the goal and the game clock. The night’s games and their start times sit above the board, so the slate is there before the first puck drops.

What are the Due, 2+ Goal Watch and Multi-Goal lists?

Accepted Answer

They follow the skaters still generating chances. Due lists up to 20 skaters with at least one unblocked shot attempt and no goal yet, 2+ Goal Watch lists up to 15 skaters with exactly one goal, both ordered by live score from the top, and Multi-Goal Scorers lists everyone with two or more. Each row carries the skater’s shots on goal, unblocked attempts, high- and medium-danger chances and time on ice.

How quickly does a goal show up?

Accepted Answer

While games are being played the tracker checks the NHL’s live game feed every minute, and the page refreshes itself every minute, so a goal is on the board within a couple of minutes of being scored. A goal taken off the board on video review is removed at the next check. Shootout goals are not listed.

Question 4

Which night does the page show after midnight?

Accepted Answer

Until 3 a.m. Eastern the tracker stays on the previous night’s slate, so a late West Coast game is still on the board after midnight. The date selector steps back to earlier nights.
